Video: Why Japan loves the 501

Japanese collectors and designers talking of their love of Levi’s

A week ago I was scrolling through Instagram and I noticed Yawara Miura, the denim collector/repairman whom provided the original garments Conners Sewing Factory base their models of, posted a screenshot of himself in a youtube video about Levi’s 501’s. A few moments later I was watching the fourth episode of shortfilms Levi’s have made about the 501 and its cult following. In this episode they’re visiting Japan and you get to hear people like Rin Tanaka (the man behind Inspiration), Yosuke Otsubo (of LVC Japan) and of course Yawara Miura chat about their love of vintage 501’s. Of course the video also shows some damn good vintage denim.
