TCB chore coat

A lovely duck chore coat from TCB Jeans

I thought long and hard before taking the plunge and ordering a chore coat. I’ve always liked the look of it, even more so as a change of pace from the denim jackets I wear so often. But I was afraid the fit would be off, being cut too weird for my skinny frame. I tried on a couple of vintage Sears- and Lee-jackets in Copenhagen a few months before getting the TCB chore coat and yes, they were simply cut too wide.

But then Inoue-san started posting pics of his chore coat on his skinny japanese friends. It made me think, maybe I can pull it off. I ordered the damn thing, halfway into fanboyism thanks to the TCB contest and the coat fits really well. It was just a bummer to buy it right around the time it got proper cold in Sweden. I’m longing to put it on.

The jacket came in three different fabrics: a hickory one, a denim one and a 13 oz duck one. I decided to go for duck, which I think will turn out great with some wear and tear. Inoue-san went with laurel leaf brass buttons, contrast green stitching on a couple of details and fantastic cat label on the front pocket. Ain’t it a beaut?
